Re: My "Hero" Blog
Those are great pics. Got a pic of the Apple diff cover installed? I thought that sucker was pretty well made and it should give you plenty of protection.

Re: My "Hero" Blog
rocknxj - I thought I had a pic or two somewhere.. Ill post them up as soon as I find them. It is definitely well made, and I there is no doubt it will hold up to the abuse I will throw at it.
SeansXJ - I originally planned on running 1.5" .25 wall DOM steering components with 3/4" hiems... But my budget has changed recently, and so have my plans. So I plan on picking up some ZJ steering, and just running that until it breaks... Connor - Im sorry, I see no sexy blue jeep jkjk I love your jeep dude |

Re: My "Hero" Blog
For those of you who are unaware, I hit up Slickrock multiple times during the past week. I met up with Jon (blondejoncherokee) for a bit and then set off on my own. Heres some pics:
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() A few days later we fooled around on the fire roads and went out to a pretty cool cabin called Bear Trap Cabin. Its a Forest Service owned cabin that is open for anyone to use for up to 21 days. Its pretty legit. ![]() Downstairs ![]() ![]() Upstairs ![]() "Driveway" ![]() Sits along a beautiful meadow ![]() I have plenty more pictures (of the Jeep), but they are on my sisters boyfriends camera. I should have them within the next few days and they should blow these pics away. Total Trip Damage: -Bashed in front bumper -Scuffed up passenger flare -Leaking rear diff (my fault) -Chewed up tires -A lot of new dents/scrapes underneath Now back to the build: Today I picked up some plates to make bumper mounts/brackets out of. 1/4 steel. Beef. I also put in an order for 2 sticks of 1.5" .120 wall DOM for my front and rear bumpers. It should arrive here Monday. Should be mounting the bender this weekend (finally). Soon to be done list (in order): -Install new gasket in rear diff -Mount Bender -Build Front Bumper -Build Rear Bumper List Continued (out of order) -Buy 33's -Rocker replacement sliders (to tie cage into) -Build Cage -Regear -ZJ Tie Rod Thats all for now! |

Re: My "Hero" Blog
Haven't gotten very much done... Fixed my rear diff leak (hopefully for good this time), detailed it, and welded on a turn down.
It is amazing how much quieter it is with the turn down.. I can actually talk to my passengers without yelling at them. Its nice. I tried mounting my tube bender the other day but failed. The bit goes through the main layer of cement and then hits something and stops. Could be rebar I keep hitting or a (big) rock or something. Im trying again tomorrow. As soon as it gets mounted, I will start on my bumper! ![]() Does anybody have any favorite tube bumpers or anything? I have an idea in my head, but others are always welcome. |

Re: My "Hero" Blog
i like the TNT tube bumper. But i would do it a little differently. Personally my favorite bumper is EricsXJ. One of the cleanest out there. Kellys JCR bumper is very nice too.

Re: My "Hero" Blog
Went on a run to Hollister... Only got a few pics:
![]() ![]() My most recent project has been a tube front bumper. Ive been working on it on and off for wayy too long, but I have learned a ton and enjoy doing it. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Teaser of final product ![]() Got about 1/4 of the way done with the welding and then ran out of wire. ![]() I bought some more wire, and now the mig gun is broken, so the project is on hold until that is fixed. ![]() |
